I took daughter and her friend to the mall today, and I'd hoped to get a few cool shots of them shopping.  Candid, casual shots.  Maybe something cool on the escalator.

Mom with a camera is not a cool thing though.

And I can't catch running teenagers.

Or hide well enough, apparently.

It's been a long day.  Here's my hastily snapped, out of desperation, shot ...

Although I love this project, and I'm already seeing improvement in my photography, some days it can be really frustrating.

Told ya I went flower shopping ...

I had a hard time with this shot. I wanted to catch the beam of sunlight, but struggled a lot trying to get my exposure right with the dark wall behind.  The petals are still a bit blown out, but whatever. You should've seen SOME of them!  ooooh it was bad ...

I'd love to fool around with some textures on this, but no time this weekend with the holiday.

That said, I'm off to play Easter Bunny and hide some stuff.

It's amazingly beautiful outside.  Gorgeous, gorgeous weather.  And it makes me feel like I should be in my garden, cleaning things up and doing, y'know, gardening stuff.

But I know that Mother Nature is faking us out, and anything I'd do would only come back to bite me in the ass.  My garden isn't ready for some TLC yet.

But I am!

Which is why I bought these ...

Grandpa (daughter's grandpa, but the name stuck) arrived today, here for Easter Weekend ...

and this is where you'll find him for most of his visit, reading the paper and doing crossword puzzles (when he isn't out shopping that is ... grandpa has some mad bargain-shopping skills).
