no bees to be found {156/365}

This is the lemoine dutzia shrub that I took the cuttings from for my shot the other day

156/365

And after all of my warnings, not a bee to be found!

Well, at least none that would sit still for my camera.

fench friday {155/365}

That's right ... fench.

Because we have fence groups and bench groups and y'know, there was a need to cut to the chase and just have a fench group.

Simplify.  It's all about the simplify :)

I built this fence.
Me.
Grandpa and I pulled the cedar rails out of the bush where somebody had dumped them.  We strapped them to the top of his minivan and brought them home (Grandpa kicks ass)
I dug those holes.
I mixed cement and poured it into the holes I'd dug.
I cut, nailed, sweat and swore.
I tied that wire.

Ten years later?

It's still standing.

(okay, it's leaning a little)

(aren't we all?)

(shush)

faded {154/365}

Amongst the many projects I have on the go (too many really, it's a problem) I've also been working on some presets for lightroom.  There's the Route66 set that I still have in the works, and now this soft, faded vintage looking set that I have no idea of what it's name will eventually be.

Soft Faded Vintage?

*ahem*

Anyways ... my shot for the day ...

154/365

And a sneak peak at what I'm working on ...

presets

No further adjustments were done, other than web resolution and my name.  What do you think of them so far?

(I think my shot today should be a little brighter, but whatever)

Oh! and the flowers are from my lemoine deutzia bush.  And just an FYI for you, should you decide you like the looks of this gorgeous shrub, do NOT plant it near your front walkway.  It's beautiful and smells amazing and guess who likes that sort of thing?

Bees :)

You come to my house this time of year?  You're doing a dash to the door.

I should get a shot of that tomorrow. hehee ...

i heart lilacs {153/365}

You were expecting a plain old lilac, weren't you ... tsk-tsk ...

153/365

The petals from one of the most fragrant lilacs I have, and for the life of me, I can't remember it's name. And really, do you call them petals? They're not really petals ... more like teeny flowers themselves.

Beats me.

They smell fantastic though.

So I have a bowl full of these and I need to search out the web for ideas on what to do with them, or if there even is something I can do with them. No idea. Will they keep their scent awhile like lavender? Will they dry out nicely or just turn into a wilted soggy mess? Questions, questions.

Anyways ...

This was shot with my fancy lighting system again and there are five different textures on there too, all from Jerry Jones - aka Skeletal Mess  (who, I'll say it again, kicks ass) of Shadowhouse Creations.

Could you tell it was a heart?  Or did it just look like a big ol' blob of pink? :p

gazing {152/365}

Hanging out in my neighbour's yard again.  What can I say?  He has interesting stuff :)

152/365

This is an outdoor water fountain type thing and I had ideas of catching the water flowing down the sides, all soft and slow-motion like.

Yeah, that sucked.

But this, I kind of like.

It seems that when I set out to photograph something in particular, when I have an idea in my head, it somehow never ends up the way I envision.

And I think I like it that way.

Well ... most times :p
