birds of a feather {273/365}

Dropping daughter off at work tonight, I was driving back home when the skies suddenly filled with hundreds of seagulls.

Really, it was pretty bizarre.

And then they all decided to go shop at walmart.

(geez, strange things happen at our walmart)

So you know I went to investigate :)

I hung out for quite a while, snapping shots and trying to avoid getting, ummm ...

hit?

bullseyed?

dirtied?

Oh whatever - I tried to avoid getting shit on.

It was a harrowing experience.

(what? YOU go stand under a hundred flying seagulls and we'll see how well you make out. I'm totally surprised I left unshat upon)

I wonder what the draw to the parking lot was? There wasn't any food or anything that I could see.

Strange little Hitchcock-esque birdie meetup, I guess.

My walmart is weird.

Sometimes, you can be running around doing your daily stuff, minding your own business, crossing off your to-do list and thinking about what's next, what's for dinner, the laundry, the bills, the schedules, blahblahblah ...

and then you happen to look up

and you stop

in absolute awe

and take a moment

to breathe.

oh m'gosh! {271/365}

So many beautiful Fall colours to be had outside, and it's absolutely pouring buckets out there.

ugh.

I tried, too. Several times today, in fact. The rain would let up a bit, and then I swear, come pouring down again as soon as I set foot outside my car. Conspiracy, I say.

This morning there was gorgeous fog and bright orange and red trees. Postcard perfect.
And pouring rain.

This afternoon I saw turkeys, twice no less, in two different fields on opposite ends of town. Wild turkeys. They're quite weird looking.
No long lens with me. Bummer.
And? rain.

And on my way home from work, a Mama deer and her baby bounded across the road right in front of me. So gorgeous.
(thankfully I was driving relatively slow and they had plenty of room)
This time, not so much rain. Just really fast deer.

Foiled.

So what do I have for you?

Nail polish :)

Gosh Polish.

goth fiction bench {270/365}

I headed down to the basement tonight to grab some books from my bookshelf to ~~read~~ stand on.

what?

Anyways, when I got there, my eyes skimmed over some titles and then stopped at these and I smiled, because they remind me of my girlfriend, and favourite book blogger, Natasha ...

She's probably going to yell at me for this though.

First? I'm standing on books. OMG, bad.
(you know what? that was HARD! books are wobbly! who knew?)

Second? I threw out the covers. Blasphemy.
(whatever, they display nicely that way)

Third? (and probably the worst) The spines are cracked. aaaaahhh!!! The horror!
(In my defense, I've had these since I was around 17 years old, so there's that. Young and foolish, running around cracking book spines. I is bad)

For sure she's going to notice that I didn't pay attention and stuck a book in there where it shouldn't be.

heheheeee ....

Anyways ...

I was in a funky mood so I played around with it (obviously) adding a few textures and what not. I like the 50's old TV look of it. And maybe kind of a faux TTV?

And there you have it.
