focus52|2012 {week twenty-seven} july 1 to july 7

July 1st. It’s well and truly summer, isn’t it? Around these parts, today also marks the occasion of Canada’s 145th Birthday, and in a few days the United States celebrates Independence Day.

Is it any wonder what this week’s prompt is?

Now I realize our group is quite international and this prompt in no means whatsoever has to have anything at all to do with the two holidays I mentioned. Celebrate anything you like! Life, holiday, getting out of bed in the morning :)

You know though, sparklers are readily available at most stores and I think this would be an excellent opportunity to try playing around with a little bit of light painting. If you’re interested, my friends at photojojo have an excellent light painting tutorial. And if you are heading out this week to shoot some fireworks, they also have this handy little tutorial to help you on your way.

Whatever you decide to do this week, follow the prompt or no, come back here and link up your work when you’re done (weeks run Sunday to Saturday, don’t forget!). Links must be to the direct URL of your actual work, not just to the site it’s posted in, and may be a link to your blog post or to your flickr photo (again, the actual photo, not your entire flickr stream). Also, please don’t link and run – try to find some time to visit at least a few of your fellow 52′ers. That’s half the fun! It’s a fact that those who link up early, get the most interaction on their work. Truth.
