It’s been a magical week, full of beauty and unexpected moments.
This bridge is a special place for me. I come here a lot, at different times throughout the year and you’ll find quite a few photos of it in my flickr stream. On this particular Saturday morning, the sun had broken through some dreary clouds, I had already seen (and photographed!) three different rainbows, and all was still and glorious when I came to this special spot of mine.
I got out of my truck, walked a bit down the road and stopped to look at the stream that runs below, resting my arms on the damp wooden rails. Hearing splashing, I was about ready to hightail it back to my truck, when I noticed the splashes were coming from the middle of the shallow stream. Four to six gorgeous speckled trout jumping up and over the rocks. It started to lightly drizzle, the misty kind of rain that doesn’t really feel like rain at all but soaks you quite thoroughly, and the sun was still beaming through the trees making every drop of water sparkle and dance. I stood still and soaked it all in, raising my face to the sun.
If there is anything I could teach, if I was given a choice at the end of my life to impart one tiny sliver of wisdom, it would be this: be in the moment. Take in everything around you and BE. Soak it all up, wrap your arms around it, embrace the moment that you are in.
*sigh*
I left that spot with a full heart and a smile on my face.
Here, some photos from the rest of my week, taken with my iPhone. I hope you enjoy them :)
Beauty is where you find it. You need only look.

Thanks Gail. The whole morning was just so fantastic.
I was just thinking of you this morning! I hope all is well. I need to stop by and catch up xo
LOVE! Yes, you and I had a similar experience. Be in the moment. That’s totally what I did when I took last week’s photos. It really was amazing. And beautiful.
And I really love your wavy hilly road, that is so cool. Did you lay in the middle of the road for that one? ;)
You sure have a lot of dirt roads out your way. Ours are becoming extinct.
