frozen muse {21/365}

"Go out and take some pictures of barns" she says to me.

Yeah, I froze my arse off.

Sunshine during a Canadian Winter is very deceptive.  Especially when Mother Nature decides to shut it off and throw some 100pmh Arctic winds at you.

(okay, maybe 40mph ... whatever ... COLD)

I snapped this before the sun went away.

strike {19/365}

This unintentionally kind of ties in with yesterday's post, doesn't it?

On Strike

I love the way the heat from the fire blurs the air.

picniking {18/365}

Pretty much a daily read for me:

ugh.

I played around in picnik for this shot.  Picnik is a fun little site and perfect for when you're just not in the mood to mess around with photoshop.  I put a few presets on this, and then messed with the curves and voila!  I like it.  And 9 times out of 10, if I want a vignette on a shot (which seriously, I have a bit of a vignette addiction that I need to try to curb) I'll save my PS file to a jpg, exit my ass out of there and just head to picnik instead.  Easy. Fast. Perfect.  I have three different vignette actions in PS, and none of them work well at all.  And when I try to do it myself, it looks like a 3rd grader messed around with a dull marker.   Suggestions are welcome ;)

frost {17/365}

I woke up this morning feeling 100% better than yesterday.  And a good thing too because Mother Nature had decided to paint the world frosty and gray while I slept.  It only took one cup of coffee to convince me to get my ass in gear and get outside.

I was out for almost three hours.  I couldn't get enough of the beauty everywhere I looked and if I hadn't have filled my card, I probably would've stayed out even longer.

(the rest of the shots from today are on my flickr, if you're interested)

One of the things that I'm loving about this project is how it opens your eyes just a wee bit wider to your surroundings.

Now, if I can just learn how to also keep my eyes on the road ...
