Just thought I’d pop in and share some info on the upcoming WP 3.0 Release, apparently scheduled for May 1/2010.
My inner geek is doing a happy dance.
For those of you totally uninterested, please return to your normally scheduled programming.

I went down to a park here in town where they were celebrating Earth Hour, thinking I’d practice some night photography and maybe get some cool shots.
That didn’t work out so well.
Good thing I have a lot of candles here at home.

I’m getting better at this self portrait thing. I spent a bit of time last night looking through flickr at what kind of settings others were using. More often than not, they were all standard auto.
So that’s what I did.
Processed with (amongst other things) Johhna’s Tea Party available at CoffeeShop. Love the softness of this action. Perfect for hiding wrinkles and my normally crap complexion.
I also set a focal point this time, instead of winging it like I was doing. It totally helped and I don’t know why I didn’t do it before. All I used was my coffee mug. Worked like a charm, and easy to move out of the way quickly.
Now, maybe next time I’ll manage to get my whole head in there.

So I’ve been back to this particular barn three times now.
The first time, I’d taken a full shot of it from the side of the road (a good 500 ft away at the very least) and when I got back home and had a look, it was particularly craptastic. I tried again a few days ago, and meh, it wasn’t much better, but I noticed the doors when I was fooling around editing, trying to salvage it.
Oh my, the doors! and that … what is that? A flag?
So I went back today, armed with the 300mm zoom and my ever present streak of stubborn.
This is at 300mm, and then further cropped to bring it up closer. And yes, my stubborn self picked a really overcast day, so it was underexposed and now a little noisy.
It’s still not what I’m after, but I’m going to leave it for now before I’m brought up on stalking charges.
Spotted – my neighbour’s magnolia tree (and I totally called him to make sure that it was, indeed, a magnolia tree)…
The fuzzy bud is so cool.
And although signs of Spring are such a welcome sight around here, this is after all, Canada.
In March.
In Canada.
Better get a blanket, little bud.
