gotcha! {64/365}

I think I finally hit this at the right time of day!  YAY!

64/365

All I had to adjust this time was the white balance.  Still can’t seem to get that right.  I even tried leaving it on auto but that still came out blue, so whatever.  If even Canon doesn’t know what to make of it, I sure don’t either.  heh.

I think I’m still going to try it again in the summertime though.   I can’t seem to stay away from that place.  Plus, it’s a welcome little assignment when I can’t think of anything else to shoot!

Maybe I should rename my 365 project to Trains & Barns?  LOL …

faux spring {63/365}

Another beautiful day today.  So gorgeous that I find myself with a case of Spring Fever, yet stuck with the dilemma of a good three feet of snow still covering my little piece of the world.

So I put a plant in the sunshine and played with the DOF for awhile. ha!  Take THAT winter.

And I’ve solved my problem (for the time being) with the nasty quality of my uploaded images here.  Y’know what I did?

I stopped uploading them.

That’s straight from flickr, and although I find it to be a pain in the ass (all those extra steps) it’s worth it to see the better quality.

Here, I’ll show you.

uploaded through wordpress

See the difference?  I’ve yet to figure out what gets lost in translation here.  I’ve never delved into the workings of a purely image driven site before, simply because I never had the need to do so.  And honestly, I didn’t notice the difference until I posted the shots from mcdonalds the other day.   But now it bugs me.  And if you know me at all, you’ll know that when something bugs me, I HAVE to get to the bottom of it.  heh.

I’m anal stubborn like that.

barns 101 {62/365}

Finally, a beautiful sunny day!

And yet, I turned this chocolate …

It just seemed to work.  Plus I finally got to use that logo stamp I made in a way that I like.  It’s very unobtrusive.

(so unobtrusive you can barely see it! geeez)

This was done using the Creamy Chocolate action from CoffeeShop.  Rita kicks ass.

This shot does not.  Kick ass, I mean.  It’s just sort of there, nothing special about it at all.  But that’s okay.  I’m tired.

lovin’ it {61/365}

Husband left for Montreal this morning, so daughter and I decided to partake in (of ?) some fine dining,  just us girls.

See that look in her eye?  That’s my girl getting a kick out of her Mom, as opposed to the usual eye roll whenever I whip out the camera.  See?  Breakin’ her down.  LOL …

Last I heard, she was stealing that shot for her crackbook profile pic.

The girl rocks the Big Mac.  And I can’t get that theme song out of my head …

‘ba-da-ba-ba-baaaaa I’m loving it’!  arrrggghhhhh …

But speaking of lovin’ it, I am now the proud owner of Lightroom.  I spent a few hours today, playing around, and have to conclude that I am head over heels in LOVE.  L-O-V-E.  LOVE!

Where have you been all my life?

I predict many hours of web-scouring for presets and goodies.

________
EDITED TO ADD:  I’m getting more than a little perturbed with the way my photos are displaying here.  The difference in colour and clarity from here to flickr is ridiculous.  Does anybody have an answer?  Is it wordpress?  My template?  My server?  Anyone?  Bueller?

It’s pissing me off.

UPDATE EDIT:  Screw it.  I’m just going to link from flickr and be done with it.

just me {60/365}

Fooling around again.  Don’t even ask what I did to this, because I sure don’t remember … I was going for that urban/grungy look.  LOL!  whatever …

60/365

One of the points of this project is to actually add yourself to some of the shots.  I’m not really comfortable with it, but I’m glad I’m doing it.  Being the one behind the camera, there’s little documentation that I actually exist, y’know?
