this week {19/52}

I bought some stuff. A new iPhone! weeee! ... which means more iPhone shots and I apologize if that's not your thing, but omg it's totally MY thing these days. It's too crazy easy to just be creative, without all of the stuff that comes along with it - mainly the time spent afterwards at the computer, editing, uploading, posting, etc - and with summer pretty much here, I am in LOVE with that. Handy, dandy, for sure.

Anyways, I played around some ...

And I've said it before, but I'm so excited to be catching more 'in the moment' shots, the every-day-things that you just don't get when you have to pull out the Canon big guns.

Although I still love the big guns ...

I bought that new bird feeder this week too, specifically for my little finch buddies who were getting crowded out of the bigger feeder. I love these bright little guys.

And that's been my week! With a few other things tossed in there, but basically, ya. New iPhone. Yay! :)

line it up [21/52]

I had quite a few ideas in mind for this week's prompt, but I only got around to one of them.

The easiest one. heh.

I've always wanted to do the clichéd pencil crayons shot.

And so I did.

(textures from the fabulous Kim Klassen. Thanks Kim!)

I've filed away the rest of my photo ideas in my little notebook. Do you keep an idea notebook? You really should. It comes in handy quite often, especially on those days when you're totally lacking motivation or ideas. Flipping through past ideas sometimes gets my motor running again.

Besides the prompt, I came across these strange little guys ...

I've never seen this kind of mushroom before. Any ideas on what the heck it is?

Or have that just been caught out in the rain too long? :)

edit: And thanks to the wondrous powers of my flickr friends, they've been identified as MOREL mushrooms. An apparent rare find and delicacy and pretty pricey at the grocer, which makes me think that maybe I should get out and collect some of them. Line my wallet.

Nah.

These little pretties caught my eye too ...

(that's Cara's fab LR preset again - love it!)

And not only did this next one catch my eye, there was some brake slamming and swearing going on too ...

It was misting rain, foggy ... I turned a corner on the dirt road I was exploring and ack! about 8 or 9 of these guys up in the dead trees.

Creepy.

Look at him, looking at you :)

edit #2!  Ya, apparently I'm being a bit of an idiot. Totally forgot I took this shot yesterday. Specifically for the prompt, too! geez ...

A part of my little collection of vintage cameras, all lined up in a pretty little row.

They make me happy :)

fleeing November {334/365}

At first, I cursed the weather today. Rain and fog, and the last of our little bit of snow gone.

But then I caught this, and looking at it, I can't think of a better shot for the end of November.

So?

Are you ready for the coming month of crazy?

I can't wait :)

hidden treasures {314/365}

We all hate to say goodbye to summer, but it sure is a delight to watch her give up what she's kept tucked away and hidden all season.

birds of a feather {273/365}

Dropping daughter off at work tonight, I was driving back home when the skies suddenly filled with hundreds of seagulls.

Really, it was pretty bizarre.

And then they all decided to go shop at walmart.

(geez, strange things happen at our walmart)

So you know I went to investigate :)

273 page

I hung out for quite a while, snapping shots and trying to avoid getting,  ummm ...

hit?

bullseyed?

dirtied?

Oh whatever - I tried to avoid getting shit on.

It was a harrowing experience.

(what? YOU go stand under a hundred flying seagulls and we'll see how well you make out. I'm totally surprised I left unshat upon)

I wonder what the draw to the parking lot was? There wasn't any food or anything that I could see.

Strange little Hitchcock-esque birdie meetup, I guess.

My walmart is weird.
