black and white {3/52}

It's funny, you would think that seeing how I come up with the prompts each week for focus52, it would be easy for me to also come up with the photographs to match. Right?

Yeah, not so much.

Most weeks, the prompts are just as much a challenge for me as they are for you. Honestly.

But I had a bit of fun this week with the black and white prompt ...

Look at these beautiful creatures ...

I took a gazillion photos of them (from the warmth of my car). So beautiful to watch.
I wonder if they get cold?

This man caught my eye as I was leaving the bank the other day. Again, taken all stalker-like from the warm safety of my car and a bit blurry to boot, but I liked the scene.

plan for your retirement

I wonder what's going through his mind.

And then there's this one. Always fun to play around with my little (but growing!) camera collection.

Thanks Ms. Shauna, for allowing me to force you into standing outside, freezing your butt off.
You're a good sport.

a little holiday flash

It's day 7 of Picture The Holidays, and today we were prompted to "express ourselves". I chose to not do a self-portrait. Nope.

I was more interested in this little gem that arrived in the mail yesterday :)

a little holiday flash ;)

Isn't she sweet? a perfect little model.

I express myself through creating. Any type of creativity, really. Be it photography, my design work, decorating ... I have to just do something. Make something.

Create.

This photo, for instance. It's a cute little photo all by itself. But then I start to play around with it, make something more of it. An hour flies by where I'm content, happy, satisfied.

Yes, that's the word, right there. Satisfied. The feeling I get when I've finished something and I sit back and look at it and I know I've gotten it right. When I've gotten it exactly how I envisioned it at the start and that vision is sitting there looking back at me.

It's great.

Creativity is my outlet. My sanity, to be sure.

My expression.

line it up [21/52]

I had quite a few ideas in mind for this week's prompt, but I only got around to one of them.

The easiest one. heh.

I've always wanted to do the clichéd pencil crayons shot.

And so I did.

(textures from the fabulous Kim Klassen. Thanks Kim!)

I've filed away the rest of my photo ideas in my little notebook. Do you keep an idea notebook? You really should. It comes in handy quite often, especially on those days when you're totally lacking motivation or ideas. Flipping through past ideas sometimes gets my motor running again.

Besides the prompt, I came across these strange little guys ...

I've never seen this kind of mushroom before. Any ideas on what the heck it is?

Or have that just been caught out in the rain too long? :)

edit: And thanks to the wondrous powers of my flickr friends, they've been identified as MOREL mushrooms. An apparent rare find and delicacy and pretty pricey at the grocer, which makes me think that maybe I should get out and collect some of them. Line my wallet.

Nah.

These little pretties caught my eye too ...

(that's Cara's fab LR preset again - love it!)

And not only did this next one catch my eye, there was some brake slamming and swearing going on too ...

It was misting rain, foggy ... I turned a corner on the dirt road I was exploring and ack! about 8 or 9 of these guys up in the dead trees.

Creepy.

Look at him, looking at you :)

edit #2!  Ya, apparently I'm being a bit of an idiot. Totally forgot I took this shot yesterday. Specifically for the prompt, too! geez ...

A part of my little collection of vintage cameras, all lined up in a pretty little row.

They make me happy :)

lights * camera * {360/365}

360framed

I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting a little tired of holiday photos.

Yeah, I said it :)

But this? This is my new little Brownie. I picked it up a few weeks ago from a really great lady who is selling off her collection. And what a collection she has! I told her she's nuts to be getting rid of them.

and as soon as I'm a little caught up from the holidays? I'll be paying her a little visit. Count on it.

Anyways ... today's prompt from the Mortal Muses is "shiny".

Meet my shiny new Brownie :)
