head in the clouds {307/365}

A few weeks ago, Elizabeth Halford held a contest to win two sets of Eye Candy Overlays.

From Elizabeth's blog:

It’s candy for your eyes. And your photos! Eye Candy Photoshop Overlays are simply the most adorable thing going. They’re vector shapes you add via the custom shapes tool in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. You just stretch them across your photo, rotate them and play with all the endless colour and blending possibilities to add maximum sweetness to your stuff.

Head on over to her site (here) to see what she did with them. Elizabeth is a genius, and if you don't have her in your list of daily reads, you're missing out on a ton of awesome, helpful hints and tons of information from photography and post-processing (the woman is a lightroom goddess) to client expectations, photoshoots, sales, and on and on and on. She knows her stuff. She saves my life.

But back to my point ...

I WON!  woooooot!!!

Jessica, the creator of Eye Candy Overlays contacted me with the good news and sent me two sets of my choice. I chose the Feeling Cloudy set and the Very Merrier set, and I have my eye on a few others.  They're so fun!

Tonight, I finally had a chance to play with them,

head in the clouds 307/365

and I smiled the whole time I was editing this shot (I took it deliberately for this, this morning). I didn't have much time, for the shot OR the edit, and I'm looking forward to putting them to better use (ahem) but seriously, how fun is that?

I have some ideas for my Very Merrier set already ;)

So thank you Elizabeth for hosting such an awesome giveaway. I never win these things! go me! ;)

and thank you Jessica for being so friendly and down to earth, and of course, for creating these bits of fun and whimsy.  I love them! Thank you!

The rest of you? You really need to check out both of these ladies, if you haven't already.

Time well spent, trust me :)

storm ahead {257/365}

On my ride to work this morning ...

storm ahead 257/365

and where I'm standing?

Perfectly blue, clear, sunny skies :)

I don't know why I felt like making this black and white. I chucked it a few times, but kept going back to it.
So it stays, I suppose.
I like the rural feel of it.

The colour version:

day 257 in colour

The skies here have looked like this pretty much all day today.  Perfect blues and sun, mixed with these thick, rain-heavy clouds

Hasn't rained a drop yet :)

ethereal {231/365}

For The Sunday Creative prompt of the same name,

Ethereal.

ethereal 231/365

I know, quite cliche.  But I couldn't resist.

Today's weather was all over the map - bright and sunny one minute, black as night the next. And in between it all, this happened.

So y'know, when your word prompt is literally hanging right over your head, you don't fight it :)

(actually, it was hanging over walmart)

(ruined the effect, didn't I)

I believe I can fly {215/365}

That song is stuck in my head ...

I believe I can fly {215/365}

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
la-di-da-blahblahblah

You too now?

Your welcome ;)
