Worth the wait, no?

It's funny how you sometimes don't notice things when snapping away.  I was so zoned in on getting the middle focused and sharp that I didn't even see those water droplets.  They were a nice surprise when I opened this on my screen.

Duh, me.

It's been one month since I first noticed my neighbour's budding magnolia tree and decided to take a shot of it.

One month!!!  Is this normal magnolia behavior?

A little sunshine would probably be of some help.  And some warmth couldn't hurt.

See?  Some of these little guys are still sporting their furry coats, kind of half on, half off like they can't make up their mind ...

(sshhhh ... it was potted, not cut)

Funny how all of the natural texture makes it appear so grainy.  Nice reminder of all of the sanding I need to do on my deck.  ugh.

beginnings {106/365}

Do you know what this is?

The beginnings of my favorite lilac bush.  It's pure white and of the french variety.  Mais oui!

I have five lilac bushes and this is the only white one. It smells the best too.  Very heavily scented.

(and usually full of bees)
