I'll be back with the Mortal Muses tomorrow. Today's prompt was 'family' and it's impossible to get people together during the work week, right before Christmas. I wish this prompt would've been further into the holiday!
(plus, y'know, I had no time at all - hence the cute (now eaten) mouse LOL) ;)

I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest ... through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops ...
and then I walked through the Lincoln Tunnel.

Only enough time today for a few shots before the sun went down. I would've liked to have made a tiny little forest. heh.

town meeting place {353/365}

I'm still hanging out with the Muses and the prompt for today is 'village'.

My daughter has had this little animated ice skating rink since she was around three years old, given to her by a much loved neighbour, years ago. It's always been her job, every Christmas, to get it out of the box and set up all of the tiny trees, benches and lights. It sits under our Christmas tree, and when she was younger, she'd turn it on every chance she got and watch the little, old-fashioned skating people of the Village, go around and around.

This year, there's a bridge gone missing, the skaters are no longer skating, and I set it up myself, but it's still under our tree.

I took a few different shots, but kept coming back to this one, with the bokeh people :)

Film grain added in Lightroom, to give it more of a vintage feel. Those bokeh people make me grin.

Tomorrow's Holiday Prompt is 'sweets'. Can't wait to see what everybody comes up with for that! It's going to be a fun one :)

Santa's letters have a long way to go before they reach the North Pole.

Today's word prompt from the Mortal Muses is 'journey'.

Did you know that Canada Post receives over one million letters to Santa each Christmas? And every letter with a return address receives an answer from Santa, in the language in which it was written (including braille), with the help of over 13,000 Canada Post volunteers.

That's amazing.

every time a bell rings ... {351/365}

Day three with the Mortal Muses, and the word prompt for today is 'bells'. HUGE thanks to Suki for choosing my photo for today's MM post. Pretty much made my day :)

You know, I thought that Autumn was my favourite time to take photos, but I just might be changing my mind.

I'm having way too much fun with my Christmas shots this year.

Mostly processed in lightroom. I wanted to give this a dreamy vintage look and feel, so I cranked up the brightness and exposure, dimmed the saturation and played around with split toning and contrast. It's not too far off from my Peachy Fade LR preset that yes, I'm still working on (shush). The edges are faded with a soft white vignette, something I don't use very often but so perfect for Christmas!

Every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings.
