northern fence

I caught this a few days ago when the crazy wind turned my town Arctic. Looks pretty harsh, doesn't it?

But a sunset on a winter day is a thing of beauty. Cold yes, but beautiful.

Happy Fence Friday!

Wherever you are, I hope you're warm :)

You'd never guess we had snow here on the weekend, would you.

Thankful for the reprieve :)

stunning {277/365}

No Bench Monday for me today.  I ran out of daytime and honestly? couldn't really be bothered with the work of it all.

Yes, I DO get those days too. heh.

But look what I did get ...

Autumn Sunset 277/365

The sky tonight turned into stunning oranges, pinks, yellows .. it was crazy brilliant. People were coming out onto the streets to check it out, it was that amazing.

And directly across from the sunset, behind me, was the faintest trace of a complete rainbow.

So bizarre.

Hasn't rained here at all. Not even a hint of it.

I wonder if the colder temps have anything to do with it all.

Whatever the reason, I'm so glad I happened to be outside to catch it. What a show.  The light from it, skimming over the tops of trees, fields and homes had such a surreal quality.  Almost other-wordly.

A portrait in that light would've been pure magic :)
